This farmhouse had been constructed in the 1970's using reconstituted stone which was out of keeping with surrounding buildings and the village.
Kent Construction added a new Cotswold Stone face using locally sourced Cotswold Stone. This was complemented with a new traditional style porch and new bathroom window which provided a better balance to the front of the house. The rear of the house was rendered to provide a contrast to the stone. The existing roof line was extended and the windows moved forward. The work was completed over an 8 week period.
The overall effect has been to create a traditional Cotswold Stone house with the added advantage of the additional insulation afforded by the new face.
Kent Construction have completed this same transformation on a number of properties in the Cotswold area.
The overall cost is relatively low when compared against the overall increase in property value it achieves.
